goTenna + EVERYWHERE integration extends tactical communications to the edge

Deployed operators for law enforcement organizations, the military, and other government agencies now have a new way to stay connected with each other and their senior leaders and decision-makers back home. The partnership between goTenna and EVERYWHERE Communications has combined the robust, localized communications capabilities of goTenna’s mesh networking with the global reach of EVERYWHERE’s secure satellite connectivity into an integrated communications solution for the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK).

The companies recently announced that this joint solution is now available to goTenna and EVERYWHERE users, enabling them to rapidly establish communications and situational awareness at the tactical edge while communicating beyond line of sight.

“EVERYWHERE and goTenna are aligned in our approach to advance global connectivity in mission-critical environments,” said Patrick Shay, the Founder and CEO of EVERYWHERE Communications. “This joint solution will provide an immediate, technical impact on communications at the edge and beyond.”

Often deployed to places where terrestrial networks are denied, untrusted, or unavailable, operators rely upon goTenna’s mobile mesh networking solutions to rapidly deploy assured, interoperable communications and situational awareness in even the most off-grid and austere environments around the globe. The combination of goTenna’s technology with EVERYWHERE’s secure, encrypted Iridium satellite infrastructure will extend the reach of these mobile mesh networks while providing unprecedented situational awareness for command and control elements.

Leveraging the Iridium satellite communications network and EVERYWHERE’s Secure Garmin devices, deployed operators can share information, see each other’s location, communicate, and utilize the other advanced capabilities of the ATAK application regardless of the distance separating them. This capability also enables “reach-back” to remote command centers and TAK servers, allowing senior decision-makers to maintain real-time situational awareness of frontline operations, which can facilitate informed decision-making and efficient resource allocation.

“goTenna’s solutions are trusted by law enforcement organizations, the military, and other government agencies to deliver mission-critical communications and situational awareness capabilities off-grid in some of the most inhospitable locations on the planet,” said Ari Schuler, the CEO of goTenna. “EVERYWHERE’s capabilities complement goTenna, and will connect operators in the field with those beyond line of sight, delivering fail-safe communications capabilities even when other networks are denied.”

This new solution unlocks unlimited potential and new uses for goTenna and EVERYWHERE users because the capability goes beyond connecting people. It can also connect sensors and data to end users beyond their traditional reach.

The addition of EVERYWHERE technology to mobile mesh networks provides secure bidirectional flow of vital data, creating an interoperable, ad-hoc, comprehensive communication architecture. This architecture provides a new level of assuredness for the advanced sensors to provide timely, accurate, and actionable data for today’s military leaders.

“On today’s modern battlefield, forces with the most timely, accurate, and reliable data have the tactical advantage. This is why militaries are increasingly relying on a network of connected sensors to generate actionable data,” said Schuler. “The goTenna + EVERYWHERE solution creates an important new addition to military PACE plans – adding a new, fail-safe layer of communications that ensure the continued flow of sensor data to those that need it.”
